You can race against up to seven other players, whether they’re registered as in-game friends, nearby, or scattered around the world.
Multiplayer races can be customized with a variety of rules, such as individual or team races, kart speed, and number of item slots. You can play however you want!

Mario and friends go global in this new Mario Kart as they race around courses inspired by real-world cities in addition to classic Mario Kart courses! These destinations will be featured in tours that rotate every two weeks! In addition to courses based on iconic locales, some of your favorite Mario Kart characters will get variations that incorporate the local flavor of cities featured in the game!

This is still a game I like to play every now and then but keep in mind I am addicted to all Mario Kart games. I still regularly play Mario Kart Wii and 8 deluxe. This game is fun for when I want a much more simplistic and quick dose of Mario Kart. Unfortunately I have been getting an error for the past two days. Can't remember the error code but it seems to happen after trying to load something or at the end of a match resulting in me not getting credit for the race. Don't want to reinstall

The game has changed so much. Idk if you have raised the game play or what, but now it's so hard to get a high score on anything, let alone try and beat the other computerized players. It's impossible to beat them anymore. Plus, it dont matter what you do. You always get hit even when there isn't anything on the track or another player doesn't have anything. Just put the game back the way it used to be. It was so much more fun then, and I've been playing this for yrs.

maybe you'll like this is you're after a very chill driving along side some others with a couple hazards maybe slightly hindering you, but if you played the other Mario games and thought it would be nice to have it in your pocket-- don't expect the same riveting gameplay that's had me hooked for years. you can't go off course, even slightly. you can't bump into walls, I tried. you don't time your clicks when you jump for a boost, It just gives it to you. the driving feels so uneventful.
